Today, I wanted to share a card I created using the Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Write markers and some foliage stamps.
I was inspired by a video I saw by Art Impressions and their watercolor stamps sets. Once I caught on, I realized their technique was really cool!
I went to their site and love their stamps and ordered a few for the future. However, in the meantime, I went through the stamps I had to see if I had any small foliage stamps and found several from my CTMH stamp sets Gratitude from the Fall Season Expressions.
Watercolor Paper, Cardstock for the base of the card, variety of small foliage images, acrylic blocks, Markers (Stampin Write, Tombow, LePlume ii), SU Stitched Rectangles die, adhesive, and Wink of Stella.
I used the stamps with the markers on the watercolor paper and followed the technique shown in the video. I do agree that you get a better impression with rubber stamps but all I had were clear stamps. It still worked out well though. Once I had the foliage the way I wanted it, I trimmed down the paper to 4 x 5 1/4.
I added a sentiment “Thinking of you” in CTMH Intense Black Ink. I cut a 4 1/4 by 11 piece of cardstock in SU Soft Suede, scored it in half to create a top folding card. I used the SU Stitched Rectangles dies (The largest) around the edges and attached foam to the back of the card front and adhered it to the card base.
I used some Wink Of Stella clear on the parts that were the flowers. I cut a piece of SU Very Vanilla 4×51/4 for the inside of the card where I am going to write a note.
I really love this technique. I feel like a watercolor painter. The stamps help those like myself who can’t draw.
I am looking forward in creating more like these when the stamps arrive. I will do a haul video to show the ones that I received.
Until next time…
